Our final year at CHS, and outside of our little world, President Nixon resigned amid a scandel, Gerald Ford pardoned him; the speed limit dropped from 70 mph to 55 to save on gas, Stephen King published his first book Carrie, and the pocket calculator was introduced.  In the theatres, we watched "Blazing Saddles" and "he Godfather Part II".  On the radio - or cassette - or 8 track - was everything from ABBA and Stevie Wonder to the Grateful Dead and Jethro Tull.
